‘Episode 4: Christine Pfister,’ The Root Cellar Podcast, Written and produced by Alexander Hogan, 2022

‘Animated News,’ Hudson Film Commission, Written by Rosie Felice and Laurent Rejto, 2020

‘Taking no time to ease us in, writer-director Christine Pfister’s “Ghoul Log” is a nightmarish stop motion with handmade disproportional puppets in which a group of insatiable cannibals consumes first their entire dinner spread, then one of the prisoners suspended in a birdcage at one end of the table. From first moment to last it’s a confrontation of the senses, with a little magic threaded along the way. Pfister’s work is truly a visual marvel lightly akin to the sort of folkloric dread-filled imagery of Jan Švankmajer’s ALICE and a wonderful way to set the tone for the rest of the block’s offerings.’ Daily GrindHouse

The Creepy Christmas Film Fest to unleash 25 original horror shorts — watch the trailer’ Entertainment Weekly, 2018

‘Taking the mantra of ‘Creepy Christmas’ to heart, she delivers a wonderfully perverse short about a pagan holiday feast with a decidedly non-traditional main course. It’s both off putting yet beautiful to look at, with Pfister showing off some serious stop-motion animation skills’ -Morbidly Beautiful

‘Christine Pfister weaves a dark Brothers Grimm’ level yarn with cannibals, children in cages, and live entombment. Ghoul Log falls in line with what Pfister calls “truly hand-made films”.’ -Dread Central

‘Stop-motion animation allows for vivid close ups complimented with a disquieting soundscape. Very effective with some incredible textures which really leap out of the screen.’ -Scared Sheepless
